Teeth Whitening Williston

Of all human features, none embodies a person's spirit and personality quite as perfectly as his or her smile. A healthy, gleaming smile projects a warmth and verve that can define a first impression and facilitate business and social interactions. In many ways, it can reveal as much about you as anything you say or do.

Over time, of course, even the healthiest smile can begin to lose some of its natural luster. Fortunately, cosmetic dentistry offers a quick, comfortable, highly effective solution in the form of teeth whitening. At our Williston, Vermont dental practice, Contemporary Dental Arts, we are pleased to feature the Zoom!® 2 teeth whitening system. The most advanced and effective system of its kind. After a single office visit, requiring just about an hour of your time, you will have a luminous, rejuvenated smile that you will be proud to reveal to the world every chance you get.

If you've got an hour to give us, we can give you the bright white smile you deserve. If you would like to learn more about Zoom!® 2 teeth whitening, please contact our Williston cosmetic dentistry practice today. We would be pleased to welcome you into our family of satisfied patients!

What Is Zoom!® 2 Teeth Whitening?

Simply stated, Zoom!® 2 teeth whitening is the most powerful professional-grade whitening option available. In fact, it is the most commonly requested whitening brand among dental patients in the United States. The procedure itself is quick and simple, producing immediate, long-lasting results.

The procedure begins, after the teeth have been carefully isolated from the gums, with the application of a hydrogen-peroxide-based bleaching gel to the teeth. The bleaching agents within the gel are activated upon exposure to the proprietary Zoom!® light. At this point, the gel penetrates the enamel of the teeth to reach even deep stains, causing them to lighten dramatically or disappear altogether. This process is carried out three times, in 15-minute intervals, over the course of an appointment that lasts about an hour. The result is a reinvigorated smile with teeth that are multiple shades whiter.

For patients who prefer to whiten their teeth in the privacy of their own homes, according to their own schedules, Contemporary Dental Arts offers the option of at-home teeth whitening kits, consisting of a custom-crafted tray that holds the professional-strength whitening gel. These kits are also available to patients who wish to maintain their results after they've undergone an in-house whitening session.

Benefits of Teeth Whitening

Although there are a number of teeth whitening products available over-the counter, even the best of these cannot produce results that compare to those possible through Zoom!® 2 teeth whitening. The Zoom!® 2 system is effective in reducing or eliminating the appearance of even tough stains, such as those caused by coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, soda, and certain medications. On average, Zoom!® 2 whitens teeth by approximately eight shades in around an hour. And therein lies the greatest benefit of in-office teeth whitening: optimal results with a minimal investment of time.

At Contemporary Dental Arts, many of our patients find that their whitening appointment flies by a little too quickly. This is because our team goes to great lengths to ensure that the appointment is as relaxing and comfortable as possible. During whitening sessions, patients are placed in private rooms where they can listen to soothing music while luxuriating under a warm blanket. A member of our team is there the entire time to provide support and ensure comfort. Factor in our tranquil, elegant office environment, and you, too, will likely find your teeth whitening appointment not only to be completely free from stress, but a welcomed break from the hectic world outside.

Teeth Whitening Risks

The risks associated with teeth whitening are minimal among suitable candidates. Dr. Shanard takes great care in screening her patients to ensure that they are good candidates for whatever treatment they are considering. She may suggest alternatives to Zoom!® 2 teeth whitening if you are prone to tooth or gum sensitivity. Certain stains, such as tetracycline stains, may be more effectively addressed with porcelain veneers.

It is also worth noting that existing dental restorations will not respond to the whitening gel. It is possible, however, for these restorations to be replaced with ones that perfectly match your newly whitened teeth.

Candidates for Whitening Treatments

One of the reasons that teeth whitening has become so popular is that most people are good candidates for the procedure. If your teeth are basically healthy and strong, and you are not inclined to tooth sensitivity, you are likely a good candidate for Zoom!® 2 treatment. Depending on your needs and goals, the procedure can be performed by itself, or combined with other cosmetic dentistry procedures as part of a more comprehensive smile makeover plan.
